The highest stress occurs in the heel section of the fork.
Our engineers have developed the famous optima heel with an optimized geometrical form to minimize stress peaks.
The deflection of our quality forks with the optima heel is up to 15% reduced in comparison to forks without reinforced heels.
This is a real advantage to increase the lift efficiency.
If the thickness of the fork is reduced by 10% or more of the original thickness, the fork has to be replaced.
A 10% reduction in thickness will result in a 20% loss in fork capacity (see also ISO 5057).
